Las Vegas Humidity, Sunshine, and Wind

Okay, we couldn't avoid talking about dry heat that defines Las Vegas, Nevada weather. Las Vegas is located in the desert Southwest, and the relative humidity is low here. Summer starts out very dry, and it gets a little more moist in July and August. It's rarely humid enough to make a large difference in what people do.

Since there is so little precipitation and accompanying cloudiness, Las Vegas is, along with Phoenix, one of the two sunniest cities in America. Sunglasses and sun screen are highly recommended.

And, finally, there is wind in Las Vegas. There are no graphs that can accurately explain wind in Las Vegas, since windy days happen year round. While the wind is usually a blessing and helps clean the air of harmful pollutants, it can get windy enough in Las Vegas to effect outdoor activities. And on the hottest days, the ones that reach above 110°F, the wind can start to feel like a blow dryer.
